The Canadian Sports Market continues its gains in 2018

The $15.3 Billion Canadian Sports market is experiencing strong growth in 2018 with sales up +4 per cent year over year. Key drivers include Equipment, which has grown by +6 per cent to $6.7 Billion and Apparel, which has grown by +5 per cent to $6.5 Billion. Footwear saw sales gain at more modest level, up +2 per cent to $3.2 Billion.

The late summer and fall (August-November) made the year for Apparel and Footwear as December fell short of 2017. The Kids’ business weighed heavily on the December results.
