Mountain bike down the highest vertical in North America

Revelstoke Mountain Resort adds lift-accessed riding

Exciting times for mountain bikers in British Columbia as the spring season is about to get underway, and with it comes news that beautiful, and super high, Revelstoke Mountain Resort has added lift-accessed mountain biking this year.

The resort is introducing the new and quite appropriately named trail Fifty-Six Twenty that spans the entire 5,620 vertical feet of Mt Mackenzie, which happens to be the highest vertical in North America. Mountain bikers will have the opportunity to ride through the alpine meadows of the upper mountain, through to the lush rainforest to the base.

Fifty-Six Twenty will be accessed via the Revolution Gondola followed by the 7km climb on the Stoke Climb trail, which is estimated to take 45-60 minutes for intermediate/advanced riders.

Lift-serviced mountain biking can also be found at Whistler, Sun Peaks, Fernie, Kicking Horse, Silver Star and Big White.

One day lift ticket is $35, $20 for kids.
