Montreal-based Ecommerce Retailer Grows Business with Launch of Skis and Snowboards.
Montreal, Québec (October 12, 2021) – Following substantial year-over-year growth in ski-related products, Altitude Sports, Canada’s only exclusively digital outdoor retailer, continues to respond to consumer demands with the launch of ski and snowboarding equipment on October 12. By fully investing in the category, the retailer will become a one-stop shop for ski and snowboard consumers looking to equip themselves from head to toe through a seamless shopping experience.
The new offering includes all terrain types, from on-piste to backcountry, and targets consumers from beginners to experts. Altitude Sports has experienced steady growth in the ski and snowboard category in the past 12 months, attracting over 50,000 unique customers purchasing products within the ski segment.
Category Growth Year-over-Year (From Oct. 2020 to Sept. 2021 versus Oct. 2019 to Sept. 2020):
- 47 percent increase in ski-related products, generating $12.8M in sales;
- 75 percent increase in ski helmets, generating $484,000 in sales;
- 65 percent increase in goggles, generating $412,000 in sales.
“This new segment will complete Altitude Sports’ winter assortment while driving incremental sales on all other ski and snowboard related pre-existing categories like goggles, helmets, ski poles and more,” says Maxime Dubois, Co-CEO. “We’ve seen a strong interest in ski touring speciﬁcally over the last two years and expect to see the most success in this category.”
Altitude Sports will offer premium ski and snowboard brands in the mid-to-high-end price range that focus on technological advancements: Armada, Atomic, Black Crows, Burton, Dalbello, DPS, HEAD, Marker, Rossignol, Salomon, and Volkl. The retailer will also provide educational content by partnering with experts in the ﬁeld and brand representatives, to guide customers through equipment choices and sizing.
All products purchased will be eligible for Altitude Sports’ Same-Day/Next-Day Delivery offer to Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria and 2,000 other cities in Canada from its Montreal distribution centre, as well as the retailer’s 90-day return policy creating a seamless online experience for customers.
