Fleming College – Sporting Goods Business Alumni Event

On Saturday May 4, 2019, Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto will be hosting the inaugural Pony Up – Fleming College Sporting Goods Business Alumni Event.

The Fleming College Sporting Goods Business program has been graduating students for over 35 years and has very deep alumni roots inside the sporting goods industry.   Charlie McGee (program coordinator), Jason Shipley (2005 Alumni) and Bill McDermott (2019 graduating student) are working to pull off the event of the decade and bring as many alumni together for laughs and re-living old memories.

Tickets for the event are $50.00/person and includes food, non-alcoholic drinks, and a voucher for betting on the horse races. Spouses are welcome to attend.

“Something we haven’t done well is get the alumni together because so many of us see each other at trade-shows, or work together in the industry,” says Jason Shipley (Rawlings Sporting Goods Co. / 2003 Alumni). Shipley adds, “Sometimes we are all so busy living in the moment we forget about the old times and the great memories that were born at the college and the city of Peterborough”

Fleming College“The Sporting Goods Business Program at Fleming College has been providing talent to the industry since the early 1980’s and one of the program cornerstones is the continued support of our alumni,” says Charlie McGee (Fleming College / 1990 Alumni). “We felt this event would be a great opportunity to get together and visit with classmates and friends, reconnect and share stories and memories.

Woodbine Racetrack is a central point for many alumni that live in Ontario and is a short ride from the airport for those alumni travelling from out of province. Its Kentucky Derby weekend so the atmosphere will be top notch, and with 10 minutes between races, it will be a perfect venue for networking, storytelling and catching up with old friends. Post time is 1:00 pm with the last race starting at 6:00pm but feel free to show up at any time throughout the day.

Please spread the event details to all of your contacts and we are asking attendees to register as soon as possible so we can order food and drinks based on the total attendance. To register please click on the following link.
