Toronto to host 2nd annual global conference with sports giants and industry movers and shakers
Canada’s sports technology-related startups are invited to submit their applications for a chance to pitch their ideas to compete for funding and consulting advice at the second annual Future Innovation SportsTech (FIST) Global Series conference in Toronto on April 17.
FIST is a unique, interactive conference that celebrates emerging sports tech innovations and boasts a lineup of world-leading speakers, an exhibition floor, and a highly engaging Esports video game competition, in addition to the start-up competition. This year’s event will be held once again at KPMG in Canada’s downtown Toronto offices.
“Canada is the third-largest venture capital market in the world and a growing hub of activity in the sports technology space,” says Benjie Thomas, Canadian Managing Partner for KPMG in Canada’s Advisory practice. “Like other early-stage startups, these innovators face similar challenges in moving great ideas to reality. KPMG is delighted to once again host the FIST conference and support this growing sector by helping sports tech entrepreneurs connect with investors, tap into business know-how, and access to experts who understand the nuances of sport.”
The FIST conference has three dedicated tracks running in parallel that focus on the:
- FAN (digital, 5G, smart stadia, OTT, Immersive Tech, etc.)
- ATHLETE (high performance, analytics, AI, and Athletes investing in Tech)
- GAMER (all things esports and sports betting)
FIST has also partnered with The Players’ Impact, a hub for business-minded current and former pro athletes seeking to achieve business success, specifically in sports tech, preserve and build wealth, and leave a legacy beyond their sports careers. The Players’ Impact (TPI) will run the ATHLETE track in and their athletes will be prominent at our Investor day on April 16.
“SportsTech is critical to The Players’ Impact community and we are excited to partner with FIST to showcase the technology that impacts their performance on the field, increases their fan engagement and showcases their talent as athletes, entrepreneurs and investors,” says TPI co-founder Tracy Deforge.
