43 Eurobike Awards, among them 9 in Gold. 5 winners from the Start-Up category
Friedrichshafen – The Awards have been presented, and it can be seen that this year’s edition of Eurobike, the leading trade show by Lake Constance, can once again claim to be the first port of call for trends and practical innovative spirit within the industry. This year’s winners inspired the six-strong international panel of judges with both their unique character and the consistency with which they had thought through and worked out their ideas and projects.
For the show organisers, the presentation of the 2019 Awards on the first day of the trade fair was also a demonstration that Eurobike and its exhibitors represent the benchmark in all of the increasingly broad segments of the industry – from sport through to new mobility. “There are many awards, but only very few in which the innovations for cycling are assessed by a really independent panel of judges”, explained Eurobike Show Director Dirk Heidrich. “Consequently, as an accolade from the leading trade fair within the industry, the Eurobike Award is one of the most important genuine yardsticks for innovation and design in the bike world – from the manufacturers, via retailers, to the end users. This appraisal is confirmed by the number of participants, which has remained constantly high for years and justifies all our efforts.” From the roughly 400 entries, 43 were selected this year for Eurobike Awards, with nine of them receiving Gold Awards. Added to this were five Start-Up Awards for the best developments by newcomers to the industry, one of them even managed to secure a Gold Award at the same time – the Swiss company Asfalt for its LR model – a puristic urban e-bike.
The 15th edition of the Eurobike Awards therefore shows that this prize for the best and most interesting innovations of the coming season is just as lively and fresh as ever. It presents itself to the show’s visitors – assisted by its exclusive exhibition on display in Foyer East – as the stage for international trends in the bike industry.
