ISPO Munich and OutDoor by ISPO rescheduled

The 2022 outdoor trade shows will now take place in late November and mid-June.

Messe München announced on Monday that the semiannual ISPO trade shows will permanently move to different dates. ISPO Munich will now kick off the winter season from Nov. 28 to 30, 2022, while OutDoor by ISPO will take place from June 12 to 14, 2022.

This decision comes mainly due to global supply chain issues causing industry-wide changes in order cycles, according to a press release from the trade show’s organizers. With these new cycles, the traditional January or February show dates would be too late for many of ISPO Munich’s participants. Now positioned at the beginning of buying cycles, the shows will allow exhibitors and trade visitors an earlier overview of the market each year.

“When the industry changes, we also have to find new ways,” Klaus Dittrich, CEO of Messe München, said in a statement. “The new dates are the ideal response to current and future challenges. Above all, they offer completely new opportunities for industry and trade.”

In addition to the changed dates, the structure of the shows will also be updated. The duration of the shows will be shortened from six days to three, and both events will implement new maximum booth sizes. Under the new guidelines, a maximum of 150 square meters of booth size is planned for OutDoor by ISPO and a maximum of 200 square meters of booth size per exhibiting brand for ISPO Munich.

The two shows aim to make these changes permanent, with OutDoor by ISPO scheduled in late May or early June from now on, and ISPO Munich taking place in late November.
